Boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, girl confesses she is in love… with Someone Else... But this Man is not who she thinks he is.

Charged with protecting Christian, the love of Roxanne, Cyrano does everything he can to keep his love happy even if that means losing her or even himself. Follow Cyrano as he navigates this heartbreaking love triangle of words and blades.

Content Advisory: This production contains mature themes such as love and death.

Cast: 16 Actors

Cyrano de Bergerac: Masculine-Presenting, 30+. The main character of the play. He is a soldier, poet, philosopher, and scientist; a man of immense courage, versatility, and talent. He has an enormous nose and is very sensitive about it. He is an expert swordsman and challenges anyone who mentions his nose. He jealously guards his intellectual freedom, even though he suffers poverty. His integrity and innate nobility of spirit are the theme of the play.

Christian de Neuvillette: Masculine-Presenting, 20+. A handsome man of noble spirit and generosity. He is in love with Roxane, but unable to express his love in such a way as to be acceptable to her. He is not stupid, but is painfully inarticulate.

Roxane (Madeleine Robin): Feminine-Presenting, 20+. The beautiful girl with whom both Cyrano and Christian are in love. She falls in love with Christian's beauty and (though she is unaware of it) Cyrano's mind. She is a person highly affected in language, manners, and dress.. Christian is afraid that Roxane would not love a plain-spoken man.

Comte de Guiche: Masculine-Presenting, 30+. The “villain” of the play, Cardinal Richelieu's nephew, who wants Roxane as his mistress, and wishes her to marry the Comte de Valvert. For revenge against Christian and Cyrano, he sends the

Gascony Guards to almost certain death.

Widow Le Bret: Feminine-Presenting, 30+. Cyrano's sister-in-law, friend, and confidante.

Ragueneau: Masculine-Presenting, 30+. Poet who runs a bakery shop where other poets congregate. A long-time friend of Cyrano.

Captain Carbon: Masculine-Presenting, 30+. Commander of the Gascony Guards.

Lignière: Masculine-Presenting, 30+. A poet, Cyrano's friend. Cyrano single-handedly routs the one hundred men sent to kill him.

Cuigy/Cadet: Masculine-Presenting, 30+. Friend of Cyrano.

Brissaille/Cadet: Masculine-Presenting, 30+. Friend of Cyrano.

The Orange Seller/Sister Marthe: Feminine-Presenting, 16+. Concessionaire at the Theatre/a Nun.

Jodelet/Cadet: Masculine-Presenting, 20+. Manager of the theater that Cyrano closes by not allowing Montfleury to act.

The Duenna/Mother Marguerite: Feminine-Presenting, 30+. Roxane’s chaperone/Mother Superior at the Convent.

Montfleury/The Capushin Monk: Masculine-Presenting, 30+. A “bad” actor. He has incurred Cyrano's displeasure and has been forbidden by Cyrano to act on the stage for three weeks.

Comte de Valvert/Cadet: Masculine-Presenting, 20+.  A courtier who insults Cyrano by referring to his nose. He is the man De Guiche wants Roxane to marry. It is to him that the famous speech of insults is addressed, and it is he with whom Cyrano duels while composing a poem.

Lise/Sister Claire: Feminine-Presenting, 30+. Complaining wife of Ragueneau/a Nun.

Potential for additional doubling as Cadets
