At a distinguished party in Washington D.C., we meet Robert Chiltern, a wealthy member of the US Senate; his wife; his sister; and Robert’s charming bachelor friend, Arthur Goring. Deceit and lies weave themselves throughout as Wilde pulls the curtain on the hypocrisy of moralistic society and with wit and gaiety, paints a scathing critique of gossips, income gaps, sexist attitudes, and the perils of protecting ones morals.

SENATOR ROBERT CHILTERN: 30-40, Masculine-presenting. A young and brilliant politician. Devoted husband of Gertrude and brother of Mabel.
GERTRUDE CHILTERN: 30-40, Feminine-presenting. Devoted and loving wife of Robert with a strict moral code.
ARTHUR GORING: 30-40, Masculine-presenting. Young, sarcastic socialite. Childhood friend of Robert.
MRS. CHEVELEY: 30-40, Feminine-presenting. A femme fatale who holds a secret over Robert’s head.
MABEL CHILTERN: 18-25, Feminine-presenting. A beautiful and vibrant modern woman. Younger sister of Robert.
SENATOR CAVERSHAM: 60-70, Masculine-presenting. Gruff and seasoned politician with old fashioned views. Father of Arthur.
MRS. MARKBY: 50-70, Feminine-presenting. Flamboyant and loquacious friend of the Chilterns and Sen. Caversham.
MASON: 25-40, Masculine-presenting. No nonsense butler to the Chiltern household. (Will be dual cast as Phipps)
PHIPPS: 25-40, Masculine-presenting. Laid-back, quick-witted butler to Arthur. (Will be dual cast as Mason)
