Drunk Classics: The Nutcracker
by E.T.A. Hoffman adapted by Dakota Lee Bryant
3rd Act Theatre Company is proud to be back for its 3rd Annual Drunk Classics Winter Tour with Drunk Classics: Nutcracker!
This winter join us at our partnering breweries and wineries to explore the classic tale of The Nutcracker and the Mouse King by E. T. A. Hoffman. It's Christmas Eve in the Silberhaus Home and Grandfather Drosselmeyer is watching the demure Marie and the rambunctious Fritz. Drosselmeyer weaves together a story of: a Cursed Royal Candy Family, an Evil NUT obsessed Rat Witch, the struggles of a being a kid awaiting the perfect Christmas Gift and a crazy RAT vs TOY Dance BATTLE!!!! Add a bit of alcohol and a whole lot of Improv and you've arrived at our NUT-Tastic Holiday Special! 6 Performers will play a myriad of roles with quick costume changes and ever quicker improv drops ins from the magical Christmas Box of IMPROV! It's NUTCRACKER like you've never seen it (but always wished you had)!
One performer (picked by you) will consume a few drinks to start the show.
Donations will be accepted to give a "rule" that a selected actor must follow for the rest of the scene OR until the next donation is made and a new "rule" is imposed! The "rules" will consist of different improv-type suggestions that the actor must perform while staying in character, such as performing with a specific accent (i.e., an angry Scotsman or a heavy smoker) or physical actions (i.e., an itch you can’t reach or one of your legs has fallen asleep).
Take a classic story, chop it up, add hilarious improv, and throw in a few drinks . . . what could be better?
Doors Open (Voting Begins): 7:30pm
Performance Begins: 8:00pm
Audience Participation: Donations for improv will be tracked by the staff and are set at $5, $10, and $20 each - with a surprise protocol for $50
